4 Functions of Camber Or Cross Slope

The following are the 4 functions of camber or cross slope:

1. To drain off the water(mainly rainwater) from the surface of the road. 

2. Prevention of entry of surface water into subgrade soil through the pavement.

3. To make the surface dry soon after the rain so that skid resistance does not reduce. 

4. To regulate the vehicles to their proper lanes.
