1. Burj Khalifa
The tallest building and structure created by mankind ever is the Burj Khalifa. The construction of Burj Khalifa was completed in the year 2010 and since then it has been at the crown of the tallest building in the world as well as Dubai.
The building is 828 meters high with a total floor of 154 including 9 floors for maintenance. It is located on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard. The construction of this magnificent structure began on 6 January 2004 and opened on 4 January 2010. Emaar Properties are the owner of the building and the estimated cost of the building is US$ 1.5 billion.
The building is constructed in a neo-futurist style by the architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. However, the main designer of the project was Adrian Smith. Bill Baker was the structural engineer of the building and the main contractor of the building was Samsung C&T. Burj Khalifa has broken numerous records on its way to becoming the tallest building in the world.
2. Marina 101
The second tallest building in Dubai and the 31st tallest building in the world is Marina 101. The building is located in the Dubai Marina district in Dubai. The construction of the building started in 2007 and in 2017, it was finally completed after the developer company ran out of funds.
The building is used as a 5-star hotel and residential apartment. The total elevation of the structure is 425 meters with a total of 101 floors and 6 underground floors. The main architect of the building was National Engineering Bureau, meanwhile, the interior designers were Design Work Portfolio.
The main developer of the project was Sheffield Holdings Limited and the main contractor of the building was TAV Construction.
3. Princess Tower
The building that ranks third in the list of the top 10 tallest buildings in Dubai is Princess Tower. The Princess Tower is also the former record holder of being the world’s tallest residential building from 2012 to 2015. The building is located in the Marina district of Dubai, UAE and its architectural style is post-modern.
The construction of the building started in 2006 and was completed in 2012. Its height is 414 meters and there are 101 floors with 6 floors below the ground level. According to estimates, the cost of the building is US$ 2.17 billion.
The main architect of the Princess Tower was Eng. Adnan Saffarini Office. The main developers of the project were Tameer Holding Investment LLC, meanwhile, Arabian Construction Company was the main contractor.
4. 23 Marina
On the fourth, we have another cloud touching, residential building. The 23 Marina is the fourth tallest building in Dubai. The building is located in Al Marsa, Dubai Marina, UAE. The construction of the 23 Marina was started in 2006 and was finally completed in 2012.
The height of the building is 392.8 meters and there are 89 floors with another 4 underground floors. The 23 Marina is owned by the Hiranandani Group. The main designer of the building was Hafeez Contractor, KEO International Consultants.
The Hiranandani Group was the main developer of the buildings and its construction was done by “Dubai Civil Engineering”. The luxury of the building is visible because there are 57 swimming pools, moreover, each duplex has its own private elevator.
5. Elite Residence
Elite Residence is another tall building that is completely used for residential purposes. The Elite Residence is the fifth tallest building in Dubai. It is located in the Dubai Marina district, UAE. The building provides a great view of the man-made island of Dubai known as Palm Jumeirah.
Its construction started in 2007 and was completed in 2012. Its height of 381 meters is a clear indicator of how high it is. There are a total of 87 floors in this building. 6. Address Boulevard
The sixth tallest building in Dubai is the Address Boulevard. It is located in Downtown Dubai, UAE. The Address Boulevard is constructed in a postmodern architectural style. The height of the building is 370 meters and has a total of 73 floors. The construction of the Address Boulevard was started in 2012 and completed in 2017.
The building is used as a hotel, residence and retail. The main architect firms who designed the building were Atkins and NORR Group Consultants International Ltd. The developer of the project was Emaar Properties and the main contractor was Brookfield Multiplex.
7. Almas Tower
The tallest commercial building and the seventh tallest building in Dubai is Almas Tower. The building is fully used for commercial purposes. The Almas Tower is designed based on modernism. It is located in Jumeirah Lake Towers, Dubai, UAE.
The construction of the tower was started on 29 March 2006 and was completed in January 2009. The estimated cost of the building is AED 3.6 billion and is owned by Dubai Multi Commodities Center. The height of the building is 360 meters.
It was the tallest building in Dubai before the opening of Burj Khalifa. There are 68 floors with another 5 floors below the ground. The main architect of the Almas Tower was Atkins Middle East. It was developed by Dubai Multi Commodities Center and the main contractor was Taisei Corporation.
8. Gevora Hotel
Gevora Hotel is the eighth tallest building in Dubai. The hotel holds a Guinness World Record for being the tallest hotel building in the world. The whole building is used as a hotel. The construction of the building started in 2005 and after a long wait of 12 years, it was completed in 2017.
Gevora Hotel is located in Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The estimated cost of this 356-meter high hotel is about 500 million AED. The owner of this building is Ahmed Abdul Rahim Al Attar. There are 75 floors with 2 more underground floors.

9. JW Marriott Marquis Dubai
The JW Marriott Marquis Dubai is the ninth tallest building in Dubai and is the second tallest hotel in the world. The hotel consists of two towers and both are of the same height. The hotel is located in Sheikh Zayed Road, Business Bay, Dubai.
The construction of both the towers of the hotel began in November 2006, however, both tower-1 was completed in 2012 and tower-2 was completed in 2013. The building is owned by Emirates Group and is managed by JW Marriott. The estimated cost of the building is US$ 490 million.
The height of both the towers of the building is 355.4 meters. There are a total of 82 floors in each tower. The building was designed by the Arch Group Consultants. Emirates Group developed the project and the main contractor was Brookfield Multiplex. There are 804 rooms in each of the towers.
10. Emirates Office Tower
The tenth tallest building in Dubai is Emirates Office Tower. It is another commercial building which is totally used for commercial purposes. The Emirates Office Tower is located in Sheikh Zayed Road in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The construction of the building started in 1996 and was completed within 4 years in 2000. The total height of the Emirates Office Tower is 354.6 meters and there are 54 floors in the building. The building was designed by Hazel W.S. Wong Norr Group Consultants Int. Ltd.
The building is designed in modern business age architecture. The main contractor of the building was Group Consultants Int. Ltd. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the owner of the Emirates Office Tower. The tower is also known as Emirates Tower One.
11. The Marina Torch
The Marina Torch is the eleventh tallest building in Dubai. It was for a short span of time the tallest residential building in the world as well. It is located in Dubai Marina in Dubai, UAE. The building is fully used for residential purposes.
The construction of the Marina Torch began in 2005 and was completed in 2011. It is constructed in a modernist design. The height of the building is 352 meters up to the tip and has a total of 86 floors. The building is designed and constructed by the Select Group. There are about 652 rooms in this building as well.
12. DAMAC Residenze
The twelfth tallest building of Dubai is DAMAC Residenze. It was also known as DAMAC heights and Ocean Heights 2. The building is located in Dubai Marina, Dubai. The building is a fully residential complex and it provides an awesome view of the man-made island of Palm Jumeirah.
The construction of the building started in 2011 and was completed 7 years later in 2018. The height of the DAMAC Residenze is 335 meters. There are a total of 85 floors in the building with 5 underground floors. The main architectural work of the building was designed by Aedas. The building was fully developed by DAMAC properties.
