4 Requirements of an ideal Transition Curve In Railway
Following are the 4 essential requirements of an ideal transition curve:
1. It should be perfectly tangential to the straight.
2. The length of the transition curve should be such that curvature may increase at the same rate as the superelevation.
3. This curve should join the circular are tangentially.
4. Its radius of curvature should vary from infinite value at the tangent to a finite value at the junction with the circular curve and vice versa.
