4 Requirements of an ideal Transition Curve In Railway
Following are the 4 essential requirements of an ideal transition curve:
- It should be perfectly tangential to the straight.
- The length of the transition curve should be such that curvature may increase at the same rate as the superelevation.
- This curve should join the circular are tangentially.
- Its radius of curvature should vary from infinite value at the tangent to a finite value at the junction with the circular curve and vice versa.
