Use of Asbestos

The following are some of the uses of asbestos

1. Asbestos sheet and asbestos pipes which both are made by mixing asbestos with cement in a suitable proportion. The asbestos sheet is used for covering of the roof. and asbestos pipe which is mostly used as a rainwater pipe.

2. It is used as a damp-proof course by mixing with bitumen.

3. Where the hot water is to be carrying, there asbestos pipe is used as they act as a heat insulator.

4. It is used as an electric insulator. asbestos is used for lining switch box, fuse box, etc.

5. It is used as a fire-proof paint and textured paints.
